Ive been walking in the evenings to the park with my son Tony for the last 3 weeks. This has turned out to a great idea during the Little League off season! While Im walking back n forth on a trail Tony plays basketball. As most of you know Tonys father is not in his life so I try to do the best I can by him so he doesnt miss out on things a father would do, like playing sports. I dont have the expertise to teach him sports but I sign him up for Little League every year. And taking him to the park now hes making friends and playing basketball with whoever is on the court. Hes normally super shy but I told him to just go on the side of the court and bounce his ball and someone will ask him to play. Today there was a dad out there teaching his two sons and he asked Tony to join them...he took his time teaching his kids and mine. And the plus side to this is that Tony really wants to play ball at the park so it pushes me to go walking!! Anywhoo... I see this post is getting lengthy but Im sitting here on a bench watching him play ball and I felt compelled to share my thoughts.
