Ive brought this up before. There are so many Christians embracing this practice. So deceptive! So unbiblical!! PLEASE research before you become involved in any forms of contemplative prayer, spiritual formation, centering prayer, spiritual directors,...I could go on, anything that invites you to empty your mind by repetition. I know of Southern Baptist churches that are embracing these practices through very crafty, subtle teachings and counselors. Believers—the Holy Spirit is enough! If we have Him, He is working and creating in us all of the time. He is not so weak that we need to help Him out with these types of practices. Ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit, not emptied out of minds by what is basically subtle mysticism. It is about transfiguration through the Holy Spirit, not spiritual transformation through mind control.
