On Assistants.... (Any similarities to yours, living or dead, is just coincidence....) Ive come across multiple MUAS, who, for instance, worked at MAC Counters, ULTA ( for example) for a few months, who find out what Im doing or involved in and want always, to be my assistant, be my business partner, always w/an offer: Im really good & can be on sets at 5 am etc ( @8:30, my kid woke me up late, my car wont start, Im not really feeling good today......) and later you see their FB posts from the night before with a guy doing a shot of tequila? From between her low cut shirt.... TFP: WHAT? Ill never work for free, Im better than that and I dont give away my work. Its PAID INTERN, right? and despite making those all so important connections because I might take you to assist,go over the basics: no photos, dont be texting........you cant take out your iPhone and start taking pix of Tom Hanks or Johnny Depp. Or post your status on FB. Oh- love this: and theres no reason that I should/need spend my money to (after their 3 months employment @ the SuperStore ) participate in any kind of classes right now because: I know 1. Color theory 2. SFX (can you create a wound?), 3. Airbrush (Im an artist, i can watch a YouTube video 4. You charge XX $$ an hour? Id NEVER do that, youll never get any work.....Im going to do my nieces sisters friends Prom for 30$$! All because their boyfriend mows your lawn and you thought maybe mentoring a young talent was good karma. Anybody else got an experience or 2 like this?
