Ive got to share this...I have come across a picture of me, next to our old netty door in Eltham Street..above which, out of sight, is the roof that started my career of roof jumping! Behind that door was a bit of fitted carpet and a little paraffin heater to make those winter trips a little less forbidding. We are a dying breed, us netty roof jumpers and should stand proud! And ah, my mam had put down a bit of carpet, an airbed and a plant for the photograph...she was the Victoria Beckham of her day..when we all had little else to grab onto but life itself !
