Ive had people ask me what its like to dive in the Pacific Northwest, which is what Ingo Wittig and I did last weekend. Its a world away from the Caribbean, but the chilly green water of Hood Canal is abundant with life. The water temp was around 50 degrees F at depth (we were nicely outfitted in our cold water gear) and the visibility is never great in summer due to algae blooms. Still, Ingo experimented with our GoPro and got some nice video clips, which I supplemented with a few of Janna Nichols awesome underwater stills (she has a huge photo gallery -- thanks for sharing, Janna!!). We stayed overnight at the Marina House (in a beautiful room overlooking the water), had a fabulous dinner at the Timber House restaurant, and really enjoyed diving off Pacific Adventures boat, Down Time. All in all, it was a great weekend!
