Ive had some good feedback when posting little behind the scenes looks into my process so I thought Id share this one on this beautiful day. Up top, the rough sketch, down below a glimpse into me painting. Sorry for the poor video quality but I shot it off of my monitor, sorta lousy video technique but it gets the point across. In the middle, the final piece. This oil painting A Birds High View came to me one evening as a vision while I was sketching. I wanted to express the freedom and beauty of a birds flight while keeping the overall piece very flowy and graphically linear. I was imagining the sensations and natural connection that birds must just adore. I would often watch seagulls at my house cruising over the water just riding the wind like waves. Lifes greatest gifts are often free. Enjoy them whether youre the bird or an onlooker.
