Ive had these hernias for six years, and throughout that time, they progressively got worse through everyday activity. I could not get them attended to because the places Ive worked did not offer employees affordable medical insurance. And I refused to go to the emergency room because it was not yet an emergency, and I was not willing to pass the financial burden to government assistance. So, I waited. This past January I became insured through the ACA, and was able to pursue this surgical remedy. Finally. Our medical system is far from perfect, but the ACA has not crippled it, as was constantly harped. It still has a long way to go. Im just taking this moment to express my deepest gratitude for those who fought for it, and found me worthy enough to save. Now, everyone needs to keep fighting for the best option we could have, the single payer.
