Ive heard and read some discussions about the difference between revival and transformation. I got curious and decided to look this up. Any of yall interested, you may want to read this. ULTIMATE PURPOSE OF REVIVAL. To glorify God the Father on Earth was Jesus s express purpose. To prepare for and live in revival, it is imperative that we possess this same desire to glorify God. He will not share His glory with another (Isa.42:8) but to and through those who are consumed with a passion to know God and give all the glory to Him, He will manifest the glory of His Person, His Power, and His presence. Glorifying God is the Holy Spirits intent in revival (John 16:14). As churches are revived and cities transformed by the mighty workings of the Holy Spirit, all the glory will be given back to the Father. RENEWAL OF THE MIND, to renew is to renovate, implying a restoration to freshness or to an original stste. It intimates the potential of redemption s power to reinstate features of Gods original intention for humanity and a recovery of many potentialities of the human mind and soul as designed before the Fall. The mind constitutes the intellect or understanding, but also includes all that is described in the word mind-set, that is, the feelings and the will. Being transformed by the renewal of your mind indicates a literal change in the form or formulas of thought and being. This describes redemption s provision of power to instill godliness in us - a power that transforms 1) our thoughts, which leads to formulating 2) our purposes, which proceed to dictate our actions; and, thus 3) our actions become character - determining habits, shaping the life and setting the course for the future. The path to godly living us not complicated, nor is it energized by the flesh, but it does call the believer to willing submission to the Fathers provision and ways. Now as for me, I got the transformstion, and live daily in the revival mode! I couldnt understand why revival would not stick around. I went to many in my younger years. But it seemed after a month or two I would go back to my old ways. Now I see why. I had to transform my mind into Christs mind!
