Ive heard people say recently that Its easy for those who can afford to eat organic to preach it, but what about all the starving people...what are they going to eat? My response: First of all, I am no where near wealthy enough to buy all organic from the grocery store...that is ridiculous, plus I dont trust anything that comes in a box (never set foot inside a grocery store if there is another option). Second, there isnt an organic advocate on the planet who doesnt believe that ALL people should have access to organic food, and that is NOT and idealistic statement. It wasnt until the last 150 years that people stopped eating what they could grow, forage, and hunt, and that was...yes...all organic! And we were healthier as a species, no chronic disease, no obesity. Thirdly, there is no such thing as a food shortage. We have a nutrient shortage from large grain companies stealing land and growing corn/wheat/soy on it, land that should be used to grow a nutrient dense, diverse diet for local people (which it used to do) and thats why those people are hungry. So, the people in the global south get stuck with no land, and no food, and nothing for their contribution to Monsantoculture grain operations, and no climate reparations for what theyve done to the soil, the forest, and the local ecosystems and economies. The people in the global north get giant supermarkets where organic aka normal food costs three times as much, and most of the food on the shelves is nutrient lacking. This is why people must eat so much of these foods to the point of making themselves fat...their body is craving nutrients, not corn.
