Ive just got a report from spotify which seems to indicate that my Xmas tune *Light Up A Candle For Christmas* did pretty well on release - as far as spotify goes anyway. :) Unfortunately spotify isnt exactly the best source of income for musicians, nor the best payer for that matter. Having said that Im rather delighted with the initial response and keeping my fingers crossed that things continue on that note in future reports from spotify and also hopefully when I eventually hear from iTunes. Thank you to everyone who streamed or purchased the song, and I hope it helped you all to have an awesome Xmas. :) *Light Up A Candle For Christmas* is, of course, available all year round; and I think I might have a pre-Christmas sale this year. Back in 2013 I created another Xmas tune and released it on a Creative Commons license - plus I took a few traditional seasonal tunes which are usually a dirge, put a beat to them, and put them in a free album *Idol Carols*. If I remember correctly both of those are available for listening on my you tube and Ill try to rem ember to make them available at the appropriate time this year. - This entire post is something that you might like to bear in mind this coming Christmas. Also theres my single *God Rest Ye Merry Dubsteppers* which I released last year but never really promoted because life got in the way. So anyway this is probably a totally pointless waste-of-time post because, by next Xmas, nobody will even remember me posting this. - But I felt a post coming on anyway, and here it is. Have an awesome 2015 and try not to do anything I wouldnt do. - If you do then dont get caught. ;) Im sitting in my studio right now and the temperature outside is minus stupid numbers by the feel of it. This time last year, when it wasnt quite as cold, my central heating - useless as it is - couldnt handle the cold properly and didnt do much towards keeping it warm in here. (I live in a weird place: If the wind is from a North or Easterly direction then all the heat ends up in the studio. If the wind is from a Southerly or Westerly direction then all the heat ends up in the bedroom. - Thats due to the elevation of where I live, the structures built around it which channel the winds, and also the layout of the place too.) This year I invested in a cheap blower heater made by RS Components - I guess for the purpose of heating up peoples electronics labs maybe. - I got it cheap on eBay. I think theyre still selling them TBH. Anyway its doing the trick and keeping it rather warm in here. It was well worth the investment of just under £9 for a brand new unused unit. - So if youre in the same boat and get froze while you compose; this is the answer. :) This cold snap in the UK is due to winds blowing down from Iceland & Greenland, as well as from Northern Canada, and itll last about 9 or 10 days yet; so I hope nobody gets too chilled in the meantime. It could be worse though: remember thus time of year in 2010, and 2011 too come to that!
