Ive just written this to a client and thought that id share it, as it gets closer to describing my remedial method....The way I work is not exactly by giving yoga exercises, but is a therapy that Ive evolved through years of experience of bodywork, movement and knowledge of anatomy and body reading. I show people how to use very gentle movement and breath, maybe or maybe not with hands on support, to alleviate pain and to realign the body themselves, without external manipulation. I show you how to work with your own body, and balance it from the inside to the out, rather than the other way round - i.e., through someone else trying to effect a change externally, from the outside to the in. Its difficult to describe, but essentially, you are in control of what happens. Instead of someone else taking control of your body. I give you the tools to help your symptom, and to improve it on an ongoing basis. In any case, the physical practice of Yoga should not hurt. I dont believe that bodies can heal through pain. My direct experience is that the body contracts in response to pain. The body needs to feel safe and comfortable in order to relax and heal itself. I show you how to bring about the conditions in which your body can do exactly that, and, give you the tools to support the process. My remedial method is not Yoga as people generally perceive it! yogalightness/remedial-yoga-therapy/
