Ive lived here 19 years. I used to burn fires in the fire place. I never knew how much vacuum was being drawn out these flue,s. Heat and air. I made a paper template. Then cut some galvanized metal, then scuffed the caulk side with 320 grit. I used good quality clear silicon the make the seal. Now I can get rid of the cardboard over the fire place. Lol , card board. It used to move back and fourth.
