Ive never bared myself this way, ever...I was an abused child because my mother made selfish choices... My stepfather beat me and degraded me for 14 years of my young life... He recently passed away, and my younger sister, who I love tremendously, lost her father... I am glad he is no longer in the world to do harm, but I have so much more than I ever imagined, because my husband makes everything alright... I dont rejoice in his death, but I cant help feeling relief that he can no longer hurt anyone...my point is that you think before you know what a person has gone through, dont be snide and dismissive, because they are hesitant to embrace you at first...we all want validation and love...sometimes it is gained from a tragic past,
