Ive never met Lauren but her story is one that everyone should be - TopicsExpress

Ive never met Lauren but her story is one that everyone should be sharing today. On her 18th birthday Lauren Hill wanted to do something shed never forget. She made a call to Mount St. Joseph University to commit to their Womens Basketball Team. Just a couple of months later she was diagnosed with a rare inoperable brain cancer called DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). She was given two years to live. Most recently shed been told she wouldnt be here past December. Her first and only question was can I still play? Today, Lauren plays her first game of college ball at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati at St Xavier Universitys campus. This game was originally scheduled to be away at Hiram College in a couple of weeks. Hiram and the NCAA agreed to move the game home for her at an earlier date. As her story spread, MSJU quickly learned that they would need a larger gym to host this game as a countless amount of supporters inquired of tickets. When the game was then set to be played at the larger arena, seating 10,000, it sold out in under 30 minutes. All of the proceeds of the game are being made to thecurestartsnow.org. You too can make a donation to this fund and help families like Laurens. What she is seeking most from this is to educate everyone about DIPG and what they can do to help find a cure, as it has a 0% survival rate. To share this story, take the #Layup4Lauren challenge and be #HillStrong, be #LaurenStrong. Today Lauren gets her #OneLastGame but the fight wont stop there. Lauren, as a fellow Lion and as your fan, I #Roarfor22 I #Playfor22. Were all #TeamCincinnati today. #NeverGiveUp, Lauren, were fighting with you.
