Ive noticed on my news feed that there are many critics of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. People that felt compelled to take the time to voice their criticism of this wonderful campaign. Well, I feel compelled to respond. I dont have the time, energy or interest to respond to each one individually, so Ill just create this one post to respond. I do not work for the ALS Association. I, like many others, have just done my very small part to support this campaign. Celebrities as well as everyday people have taken part in this to help raise awareness and much needed funds to help fight this terrible disease. Does this suggest that ALS is more important or more in need than other diseases or any other issues for that matter? Of course not. Have some had more fun than others with this challenge? Indeed, but again, what is the harm in that? As long as it helps the cause and it absolutely has! Besides, its better than most of the nonsensical crap Ive seen posted on social media. There are well over 4 MILLION reasons why this campaign has been successful, not to mention the awareness its raised which really cant be quantified. I applaud ALL of you that have taken part in this!! I look forward to seeing more videos and more people donating. Personally, Id rather see that on social media than what you ate for dinner or a meme of Obama. #ALSIceBucketChallenge Jim OHeir, Robert Downey Jr, Jax Turyna, Suzette Brown, Gary W Golden, Sean Patrick Leonard, Jayson Bernard, Justin Jackola, Tyler Young.
