Ive spent a lot of time tonight reading the arguments for and against regarding Lee Clark on various pages and forums. Now, Im going to have my say. Today, along with all of the other games Ive seen this season hasnt been short of effort. In fact, Ive thought that this group of players - despite their clear lack of quality; show a lot more effort than the groups we have had to endure over the past few campaigns. Since Lee Clark took over, we have seen more bad performances than good ones, and despite the restrictions placed on the manager; the fact remains that apart from setting up the team to play a certain way; when things start going wrong (like today) he doesnt seem to have the ability or tactical knowledge to change it, or improve it. For all the good work previously, once Fulham got level today, you knew exactly what was going to happen. The same thing happened against Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich. I have no issue with Lee as a person. Ive met the guy and I think he is a passionate football man who genuinely has a soft spot for the club and a genuine desire to do well here. However, and this is just my opinion; I cannot see what improvement Lee Clark can bring to Blues in the current situation. The home record is shameful, and despite a bit of early promise, things appear to be slipping back to the kind of results we saw too often last season and the season previously. For me, Clark is an inexperienced manager at this level - and it has shown for a couple of years. He talks a good game, but when the same issues keep arising, any confidence you have in the man, or anything he has to say; slowly fades away. In our current situation, we need a strong character in the dressing room. A leader, an experienced manager who is capable of getting the best out of what hes got. Lee Clark is in over his head in my opinion, and today is as good as the final straw with some of the most patient Blues fans. He does need to go now, but I cannot see it for reasons we all know too well. - Rich.
