Ive struggled for the past week and a half with the death of a friend who laid in his floor for days before he was found by paramedics. My struggle - who should die alone? Will it be me? Will it be someone in my family? Will it be another friend? My answer is it very well could be. We never know when we will say goodbye for the last time or worse when we ingore the opportunity. Ive found myself suspiciously guarded about sharing my grief as I carry it daily until I figure out what to do with it, which I am sure will come in time. I have discovered a new found appreciation for everyone who has ever experienced the same and a confounding respect for those who stand strong under the seemingly unbearable burden of loss.
