Ive waited to comment on this recently-revealed video, until: after the right-wing machine had their field day; the left-wing spin machine circled their wagons; and maybe Gruber had something to say in his defense. Gruber has apologized for calling the American electorate, stupid -- but did so on MSNBC, whose commentator immediately came to his defense, claiming his statements were far too nuanced for us to fully grasp. Basically, reinforcing his assertion of our stupidity . . . in a slightly more nuanced manner. This video really is a powder keg, and as expected, the major media sources will ignore it. NBC will run it a couple of times on MSNBC, where only three viewers will see it, then claim they covered the story. The rest will bury it. In an off-the-cuff moment of hubristic veracity, the architect of Obamacare did nothing short of reveal a criminal act perpetrated upon the American people. To avoid transparency, admitting to using tortured legalese in the construction of the law so as to deliberately deceive a stupid electorate. Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, said Gruber in the video. Remember House Speaker Pelosis infamous comment, But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. Fog of controversy? No. The fog of deliberate, premeditated deception -- from inception to final passage. If an executive with a large corporation had been caught in this kind of deception, in either a product rollout or a shady financial transaction, my liberal friends would have been screaming for his head and calling for his imprisonment. (You KNOW Im right.) And thats exactly what needs to happen to Jonathan Gruber: an old-fashioned perp walk, leading a chain-gang of that entire team of lawyers who wrote the bill, and every Congressman who sponsored the effort -- immediately followed by the impeachment of President Obama. Of course, neither will happen. As Grubers apologists have already echoed from his video confession: Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not. Yes, to the progressives in the American left, the end absolutely justifies the means. Lies, tortured language, and a reliance on the stupidity of the American voter. That is the contempt for the American people by which they govern, startlingly revealed in less than one minute of video. To my liberal friends, I simply, yet pointedly ask . . . Do you condone this process, and does the end justify the means? youtu.be/G790p0LcgbI
