I’d like you to meet Linda, she has been working with CRT for approximately 6 years, doing home inspections & transports when needed. She has adopted two special needs dogs from CRT and also works with a Great Dane Rescue doing transports in the tri-state area & G.R.O.W.L a world wide rescue of all animals. She even helped to transport a monkey! “ That was fun’,she says,” Its very satisfying to help any animal in need. Also I cant stress enough, ADOPT, dont shop. Here is her story about the dogs in her life.... Sherlock is our most recent adoptee. He was rescued from a horrible hoarding situation. Hes 10 years old, blind in both eyes due to an untreated eye infection; he also cant walk very well because of being in a cage for 9 long years.... his hind legs have totally atrophied. I decided he needed us most because our 1st adoptee from CRT became blind. This is Lil Bit, he was our 1st adoptee from CRT. We were able to keep him safe & well, until he was diagnosed with cancer that was inoperable & would not respond to any treatment. We found out 3/11 that he had at the most 3 months to live, but God is good & we were able to keep him with us until August 6, 2011 when he crossed the bridge. And lastly is our oldest adoptee, Lil Man .Lil Man is from a CA Rescue & has been with us for 13 years! All these boys have suffered at the hand of man & it has to STOP!! Lil Man was abused even as a puppy, as I assume they all were. We always adopt the ones that are in most need. Lil Bit had such an attitude, even CRT warned us about his attitude; but with love & trust Lil Bit turned out to be a love & just as smart as you could imagine. Also with Sherlock he is just like any other sighted animal. When we first got him , he was very quiet, but as the days passed we have taught him different words that he will react to; like if he has to go out. He is quite mouthy for a 3 pounder! It is such a joy watching them come out of their shell. He walks(drags) him self around & can listen for sounds we have put to words. These boys are the joy of our lives. We still miss Lil Bit, but Sherlock has helped us through the heart ache...... This is just a thought of mine...can you imagine waking up from a surgery & not able to open your eyes because they are gone? Thats what happened to our little Sherlock ?
