I’m tired of people using the word ‘nerd in situations where it doesn’t belong. A girl at my work had a sticker on her laptop that said, “Trail Nerd.” Hiking is a physical activity that requires you to go outside. What exactly about this is nerdy? Hiking isn’t nerdy unless you’re taking a stroll up Mount Doom to drop off the one ring during your visit to Mordor. You can’t just use nerd all willy-nilly like that. That’s our word. Oh really, you’re a real car nerd? Bet that got you stuffed in your locker all the time. Oh yeah, a big old football nerd over here. That’s not how this works! Until Fantasy football starts giving out points for fighting White Walkers on the Fist of the First Men, I don’t want to here about you and your buddies “geeking out” at the football game.
