I’ve been working with the people from the Transgender Human Rights Institute to create momentum for Leelah’s Law. The THRI has been leading the efforts to end the coercive Conversion Therapy that eventually resulted in Leelah Alcorn’s death. They created the petitions for Leelah’s Law that have been growing at viral speed on change.org (change.org/FixSociety) and the White House’s WE the PEOPLE petition sites. They are a TRANSGENDER FOCUS NON-PROFIT, a registered 501(c)3 corporation and depend on public support to accomplish their mission. The THRI’s mission is to be an educational catalyst and the foremost provider of accurate, verified data through our education, advocacy, and research that ensures human rights and dignity for all transgender people around the world.” They run the ONLY Transgender Violence Tracking Portal in the world that tracks and allows individuals to query a database concerning transgender murders, violence, missing persons, suicides, harassment, and a host of other incident types.
