I’ve just come back from a trip to the centre of Australia, - TopicsExpress

I’ve just come back from a trip to the centre of Australia, spending seemingly fleeting moments in Uluru, Kata Tjutua, Kings Canyon, Chambers Pillar, and in handful of gorges along the West MacDonnell Ranges. Absolutely stunning. Every spot we spent time in had its own magic, different, yet the same. Photographically I was overawed. Normally obsessed with the ‘smaller picture’ and the finer details of nature, I admit I became immersed in the ‘bigger picture’, the landscape, the vistas. I’m not a morning person – sunrises are difficult for me. But we managed 7 straight sunrises, and every single one was worth dragging myself out of the swag for. Amidst all the red rocks and sand of these landscapes lies a beauty that goes much further, into the history of the land, the animals, and the plants. Warm light paints the landscape at dawn and dusk, revealing details in the rocks. With darkness come silhouettes, which reveal character, showing off the lay of the land. Animals too become active, their calls echoing through the gorges. A truly wonderful part of Australia, and I look forward to going back! Many more photos to come, but here are a few snippets!
