I’ve now heard one too many dorks who complain that “only the top 1% make it” in network marketing, internet marketing – direct sales, or whatever. If this is how you think, the problem is not here, it’s with your brain. First of all, it’s not true. Whenever one of the many ‘dork bags’ and ‘wussatrons’ comes up with statistics like this (no matter the company) they are ALWAYS counting: EVERYONE, including (important): 1. Customers 2. People who originally bought a fast start package, thinking it was a lotto, never went through training, never opened a their box of ‘whatever’ because they forgot they bought it, and remembered only long enough to cancel. 3. People who just joined in the last 30, 60, and 90 days (come on guys, that would be like averaging in people in medical school to average earnings of doctors) 4. People who originally intended to get rich, worked for a month, and now are doing something else.* special note: it is impossible to count the above categories of people on your theories of who is successful, because the chances that any of those groups will get rich is exactly… zero. This would be like saying that the chances of making $100,000 a year are 2% – because that’s the population in North America that makes that much money. If you think that, you are an idiot, and a wussy – you should be banned from network marketing if you don’t change. Some people work harder than others, choose different professions, spend more time educating themselves, and so on. LIFE IS NOT A LOTTERY. Also, in the claims that ‘only 1% make it’ include the following people: 1. People who have been in for longer than six months 2. People who have been to every company event 3. People who actually do what they are taught, and when they make mistakes, keep correcting them and trying. 4. People who invest a LOT of money into their education (I’ve invested more than a quarter of a million dollars into mine over the years) 5. People who stay up late, and get up early 6. People who keep trying through years of failure, and fight with pure determination 7. Badasses. Here’s what I’m curious of (really) if you: 1. have been in the same company for six months or more 2. ACTUALLY WORK at least 1-2 hours a day, and have done for six months or more 3. Have been to every one of your company events since you got in your deal 4. Have gotten from 10-30 people a day to look at your company presentation 5. Have invested at least $5,000 into your education How much are YOU making? I’m guessing this, the amount of people that have ACTUALLY DONE THAT are LESS than one percent of the population of network marketing, LESS THAN the people who are making $100,000 a year or more. Why? Because 1% don’t make it, 100% who actually do it right make it. Because Network Marketing is not a lottery. Network Marketing is a profession. Don’t count people who play golf twice a year with statistics when you’re averaging in the earnings of Tiger Woods and professional golfers. :) Let’s do it right, work hard, and get rich. If you think this is a lotto – you have a choice: Change, or quit. We don’t need your crappy philosophies in Network Marketing. Go play the lotto, and spend your money in Vegas, you have better odds. I would be happy to buy you a “Wussy Here” shirt on your way out the door. Might want to also consider a tattoo. -David Wood Guru Slayer Ex Homeless Van Man to current Multi-Millionaire youtube/watch?v=2rS_sMBoNSY
