I’ve seen a provider advertising meals available for only $2 to NDIS participants! - which I am pretty sure meant $2 out of pocket, the rest charged through your NDIS funding. I am really REALLY unhappy to see this type of unclear semi-secret pricing in an advertisement. Even for those of us who opt to have the NDIS themselves manage our funding, we need to learn (as much as possible) what things cost and what is charged to that funding. For those of us who opt to self-manage funding, of course, knowing the costs is even more vital so we can manage things ourselves. I would really DISCOURAGE any providers from advertising things in this secret cost way. Please stop disenfranchising NDIS participants and their supporters/families. And if you are an NDIS particpant/family/supporter and see things advertised in this way, please tell the providers clearly that it’s unacceptable. [The original provider’s message was quite rightly deleted by the group admins as it was advertising - I just wanted to discuss the general issue too so I have reposted as Samantha Jenkinson asked me to.]
