I’ve told this story quite a few times at work, so I thought I would share it on Facebook. We are moving August 13th to the great state of Tennessee. I hadn’t meant to keep it a huge secret, but I keep running into people who are surprised that we are moving away from the town we have lived in for 18 years. The reason why we are moving to Tennessee is to be closer to Karen’s family. We have lived near my family for our entire marriage and with the exception of a trip east every 3-4 years Karen really hasn’t been able to see her family. Karen’s folks live in Tennessee along with her younger sister and the rest of her family live on the east coast which will be a much closer drive. I will be transferring to the Tennessee Air National Guard into some sort of Intel job, weird huh? Never would have put an = symbol between my name and Intelligence, but that’s all I can say about that...8). Karen will be doing some work from home until we can get new careers. This is an exciting venture for us and it is very scary at the same time. I moved more times than I can count growing up and I am thankful for the experiences I received from those moves. The many moves in my life are the reason I have 800 some friends on Facebook, not because I am famous or have a lot of followers but because I was a part of those peoples’ lives. I am proud of the fact that this is the first time that I will move my kids and it may be the last. Hopefully there will be opportunities to sing and be a part of a loving church. We love many folks from College Church in Nampa and will miss them greatly. I will miss singing with my group the Homeland Harmony Quartet; they have been a blessing in my life. I will miss all my brothers and sisters in the Idaho Air National Guard, we’ve fought together and I will never forget the kinship. The great thing about Facebook is it allows me to stay in touch with those I love and never truly say goodbye. So I guess I’ll just say, “Talk to you later!” Steve
