JA BizTown Program Coordinator – Hourly Position Junior Achievement of NJ (JANJ) is seeking mature organized people to help facilitate various weekday volunteer and student activities and operation show flow. Program Description: JA BizTown is a two-pronged educational experience for 5th/6th grade students that helps them meet state standards at no cost to them or their schools. Students apply what they learned in school at a simulation experience that looks like a ‘mini town’ located in Bridgewater, NJ. The students take field trips via their schools to BizTown in Bridgewater, where they role play as CEOs, CFOs, radio broadcasters, lab technicians, bankers, utility and healthcare workers and more for a school day. Corporate and community volunteers assist groups of students. Click here to see the JA BizTown video. Key Responsibilities/Work Schedule: The coordinators help to manage the day’s show flow, monitoring overall student activities as they fulfill their ‘jobs’, ultimately providing lasting, meaningful learning experiences for the students while ensuring a positive occurrence for the volunteers. Set up for next day’s operation is included during these hours. Coordinators select days to work. Required hours are 8:00am-2:00pm. While this is truly a rewarding job, it is a fast-paced, high-energy environment requiring employees to be on their feet during hours of operation.
