JAMMU: For the final acquisition of appropriate premises for showrooms of J&K Handicrafts Corporation in Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai, the State Government has constituted a High Powered Committee. The six-member committee comprises of Principal Secretary Planning & Development Department, Principal Secretary Finance, Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce, Managing Director Handi-crafts Corporation, FA & CAO, Industries & Commerce Department, FA & CAO, J&K Handicrafts Corporation. The Committee would finalize the premises out of the short-listed locations and negotiate cost of acquisition of the property on the basis of prevalent market rates or by way of Expression of Interest (EoI) while exercising maximum transparency. The committee will also finalize the residential accommodation and acquisition of the same on the basis of recommendations of the Departmental Committee in a transparent manner. Further, the High Powered Committee has also been authorized to dispose of present assets of the Corporation in the shape of four residential flats at Shivaji Park by way of negotiating the price with the society or through EoI or on the basis of prevalent market rates, whichever is higher, tenable and transparent.
