JAPAN | Gross domestic product increased at an annualized rate of 6.7% in the January to March period from the previous quarter, the Cabinet Office said, revising its initial estimate of a 5.9% expansion. The result, adjusted for price changes, marked the sixth straight quarterly expansion. Despite ageing (and now falling) population, Japans GDP grows strongly. That also means PER CAPITA growth in GDP of the full aggregate GDP figure. Despite rapid population growth in AUS, our per capita GDP is stagnant at around 1% p/a or less. LESSON: Its about a smart, productive economy, not the number of people.
