JCC TO TEAM UP WITH BIRMINGHAM KNIGHTS FOR BASKETBALL FESTIVAL Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College are pleased to announce that they will be teaming up with Birmingham Knights Basketball team to host a Basketball Festival to be held at the College on February 10, 2014. In just their first season as a professional BBL club, the Birmingham Knights will be going out into the community to raise Basketball participation amongst youngsters ranging from year 9 to sixth form. 150 students from: Hodge Hill Girls School, Ninestiles Academy, Hodge Hill Mixed, Joseph Chamberlain College, Aston Manor, St. John Wall and Yardley’s will be taking part in the Basketball Festival. As well as the students a host of Knights players and staff including Coach Paul Douglas and the BBL top Points Per Game scorer Brent Benson will be at the festival teaching and encouraging youngsters to get involved with the sport. The Basketball Festival will start at 9:00am and will finish around 16:00pm. The day will include activities such as: Ball handling, shooting, passing and dribbling drills, 3v3 matches and then a 3v3 competition. The festival will also include Prizes being handed out and a Q&A with the Birmingham Knights players. The event will take place in Joseph Chamberlain College Sports Centre. The first festival is sure to be a great, fun day for all involved and one of the largest Basketball events to be staged in Birmingham for many years!
