JERSEY BOYS!!!! Big brother is alive and well in movie critic land. Not sure why the critics have their panties in an uproar about the movie version of Jersey Boys, but I found it to be a very enjoyable movie going experience. The actors did a great job (even if the charisma of Vincent Piazza eclipsed some of their performances by his knockout showing.) It was a great summer drama and worth a view. I will be buying the soundtrack. Reasons you should see the movie version of a Jersey Boys: 1. Vincent Piazza. Holy crap, he is amaze-balls. I couldnt keep my eyes off of him. He made a reprehensible person somehow like-able. He wasnt afraid to completely dive in. I have so much admiration for this type of fearlessness. Frankie Vally who? 2. Great shots of New Jersey in the 50s and 60s. 3. Interesting story with a glimpse into the gritty side of being a performing artist. 4. Its really funny. Nuns, wine, Rahway prison, walk like a man. Great laughs. 5. Clint did his musical homework. He quotes Vivaldi and chest voice in the right context. 6. You are a four seasons fan and may not even know it. They had great songs. 7. Christopher Walken. That is all. 8. See number 1. He looks like the love child of Jason Priestly and Robert Pattinson. 9. Wonderful musical performances. Fun choreography. 10. Usually, I am not a big fan of Clints directing. I really liked his pace and overall flow in this film. He made a great choice in Piazza. Did I mention that Piazza was fabulous? Two big armrests way up. #armrestrenegade
