JESUS CAME TO CALL SINNERS TO REPENTANCE: Mark 2:13-17. Jesus in one of His ministry tour met with a Customer Officer and a professional Chartered Accountant of his time name Mr. Levi (Matthew) Alphaeus ACA and called him to be one of His disciples and he honor the invitation and also invited Jesus to dine in his house and Jesus also honor the invitation and church people of Levis days accused Jesus of eating with scum when Jesus heard it, He said unto them They that are whole have no need of physician but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. For the fact that Jesus accept sinners as they are does not mean He condone sins. God expect a gradual and a radical transformation in the life of every sinner that is accepted as he is. Romans 12:2 says and be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...Transformation is no more choice but a command to be obey by the sinner, if he must remained acceptable in the sight of Lord who called him. Are you still a sinner? Jesus says, come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) You can answer the call as Levi did. He was a professional sinner but he was transformed to be a professional fisherman. You be also.
