JESUS NEEDS YOU Shall the Head say to the feet, I have no need of you? (1Cor,12:21). ________________________________________________________________________ We often hear, and say, “people need the Lord”. This, of course, we all know is irrefutable & unquestionable. ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus is the Head, we are His body. ________________________________________________________________________ It’s obvious that your body cannot do anything without your head. ________________________________________________________________________ Do we realize however, that The Lord needs us also? ________________________________________________________________________ Is it not obvious, that neither can The head do anything without the body? ________________________________________________________________________ Take your head off, set it on a chair and see what it can do without the help of your body. ________________________________________________________________________ The analogy is evident. Jesus does nothing on the earth except He does it through us (His body). ________________________________________________________________________ John Wesley said “God will do nothing on earth except in answer to believing prayer”. ________________________________________________________________________ I realize that this sounds strange to many people, but God’s Word affirms this statement, “God needs YOU”. ________________________________________________________________________ He needs you to carry out His will upon the earth. ________________________________________________________________________ God does not need us for Himself, rather He needs us because of the Breadth, length, depth & height of His love for humanity (Eph.3:18). ________________________________________________________________________ He needs us to tell people on earth of His love for them. ________________________________________________________________________ He especially needs us, to give our self to Him, in prayer. ________________________________________________________________________ “O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer”. ________________________________________________________________________ He needs us to pray, so that He can bless us in accordance with, His heart’s desire for us. ________________________________________________________________________ I beseech you therefore, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies to God has a living sacrifice (Rom.12). ________________________________________________________________________ God won’t take us by force, we must willingly offer ourselves to Him. ________________________________________________________________________ Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what God’s good, acceptable & perfect will is (Rom.12). ________________________________________________________________________ In Christ we, though many, form one body (Romans12:5 NIV). ________________________________________________________________________ And He (Christ) is the Head of the body (Col.1:18). ________________________________________________________________________ Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it (1Cor.12:27). ________________________________________________________________________ Do you know that Jesus’ heart hurts when any member of His body suffers? ________________________________________________________________________ And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it, or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it (1Cor.12:26). ________________________________________________________________________ Do we realize that Jesus’ heart rejoices when any member of His body is honored? ________________________________________________________________________ Shall the Head (Christ) say to the feet, I have no need of you? (1Cor.12:21). ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus said to His disciples “Could you not watch with Me one hour?, watch and pray” (Matt.26:40-41). ________________________________________________________________________ Are we His disciples? ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus says, the same to us today. ________________________________________________________________________ Can you not watch & pray with Me for one hour? ________________________________________________________________________ The Bible says that Jesus is still praying today. ________________________________________________________________________ He ever lives to make intercession for us (Heb.7:25). ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus needs us to, agree in prayer with Him, from earth. ________________________________________________________________________ He now prays in heaven. We pray on earth. ________________________________________________________________________ Someone on earth, must enter into, His intercession, that is being done in heaven. ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus’ intercession from heaven, go to work on earth, when someone yields to His Holy Spirit, to pray through them. ________________________________________________________________________ All these things were written for an example to us & for our instruction, admonition & warning (1Cor.10:11). ________________________________________________________________________ All that Jesus did on earth with His disciples, is an example to us of how He works today, through the person and work of the Holy Spirit. ________________________________________________________________________ I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you (John14:18). ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit, whom He sent to earth, to carry on His work through us (His body). ________________________________________________________________________ The gospels are for the purpose of, us learning how to take, Jesus’ yoke upon us. ________________________________________________________________________ Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me (Matt11:29). ________________________________________________________________________ If we are not to look to the gospels, to learn of Jesus, and how He desires to work with us today, where does God intend for us to go to learn? ________________________________________________________________________ The gospels were written for us today, so that we might observe and learn what Jesus is like, how He operates, and what He needs of us. ________________________________________________________________________ If God does not need us to pray, in order to do all He desires to do for us, He would not tell us to pray. ________________________________________________________________________ Let us come boldly before the throne of grace (so) that we might obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Heb.4:16). ________________________________________________________________________ How do we obtain God’s mercy? We do what His Word tells us to do. We come boldly before His throne of grace. ________________________________________________________________________ How do find His grace to help in time of need? We follow the instructions, that He has given us, in His Word… “Come boldly before the throne of grace”. ________________________________________________________________________ If we don’t know what that means, or how to do that, it would be up to us to ask God to help us understand. ________________________________________________________________________ It is up to us, to continue to diligently search His Word, for more light on the subject. ________________________________________________________________________ God rewards those who diligently seek Him (Heb.11:6). ________________________________________________________________________ The things of God and heaven do not show up on earth to half hearted people. ________________________________________________________________________ The things of God and His kingdom are rich. They are priceless. They don’t come to earth cheap. ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus shed His blood to make them available to us. ________________________________________________________________________ To come to God half-heartedly is to fail to recognize the incredible price God paid to make heaven’s blessings accessible to us. ________________________________________________________________________ Yes, there are things Jesus needs of us. ________________________________________________________________________ God loves people so much. He needs for us to tell them that He loves them, and to show them what His love looks like. ________________________________________________________________________ It is not God’s will that one soul of humanity perish, yet many will. ________________________________________________________________________ How can this be, if it is not God’s will? ________________________________________________________________________ Are you telling me that souls will perish, even though it’s God’s will, they be saved? ________________________________________________________________________ I am not telling you that. God Himself has told us that in His Word. ________________________________________________________________________ God is not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance (2Pet.3:9). ________________________________________________________________________ What then will make the difference, as to whether or not souls will perish? ________________________________________________________________________ We know that it is God’s perfect will that every soul be saved, and live with Him forever. ________________________________________________________________________ We also have seen from His Word that Jesus is making intercession in heaven, before God’s throne, on behalf of people. ________________________________________________________________________ If it’s God’s will, and Jesus is praying for humanity, how could any soul be lost? ________________________________________________________________________ God cannot fail can He? ________________________________________________________________________ God sent Jesus to earth to leave, a deposit of heaven, in the human race. ________________________________________________________________________ That deposit is the New Birth and the Holy Spirit. ________________________________________________________________________ These things are the work of God, from heaven, in man. ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus was not sent to earth, just to return to heaven, without leaving anything from heaven to help humanity. ________________________________________________________________________ God sent help from heaven, by sending Jesus, to earth. ________________________________________________________________________ Jesus poured out God’s life on earth, in the form of His blood, so that humanity could become a partaker of God’s divine life from heaven (2Peter1:4). ________________________________________________________________________ God’s divine life from heaven, was given to Jesus’ disciples and, has been passed down through the ages to us. ________________________________________________________________________ “…you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, for this promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off…” (Acts2:38-39). ________________________________________________________________________ It is not God’s will that any perish. God did all that He did, through Jesus, to make His will available to men on earth. ________________________________________________________________________ God’s will, for man, has actually been given to man. God needs us, and depends on us, to pass on His will. ________________________________________________________________________ God’s Word is God’s Will and 1Peter 1:23 says that we have been born of that Word. ________________________________________________________________________ This means that we are born of God’s Will. Our new identity, in Christ, is God’s will. We are to carry God’s “Will” (that no man perish) to humanity. If people perish it will not be God’s fault. God told you, and I, to go into all the world and preach the gospel (Mark16). The doctrines of men, that place all the responsibility on God, and nothing on us, is a complete fabrication of the truth. It’s just not Bible. It’s simple to see where it emerged from. We just don’t want the responsibility that the Word of God clearly gives us. Jesus says…“Can you not pray with Me for just one hour?” I realize that to many of God’s people, an hour of prayer sounds like a long time. An hour of prayer is an hour of communion. It is not an hour of you talking to God and telling Him what you need or want. Not to imply, that we won’t ever tell God, while communing with Him, what we need or want, but that is not the basis of prayer. In prayer, God communes with us and we commune with Him. God communes with my spirit, through His Word, as I meditate on it. That is a part of prayer. God speaks to us first, foremost & primarily through His Word. I speak His Word back to Him and I rejoice in my spirit over what He illuminates in my heart. This is a form of prayer also. Everyday, I also open my mouth boldly, and declare out loud, God’s Word over my life, over my wife, my family, over the body of Christ etc… There are many ways to pray. There are all kinds and forms of prayer, but they are all fundamentally based in a depth of, spirit to spirit, communion with God. There is also a tangible anointing that will help us to pray more effectively. Be sensitive to His anointing and let it lead you. 1John 2:20,27 Says that we have an anointing from the Holy One. Ask God to pour out of His anointing upon you so that you might pray more effectively. Tell God that you want to be able to help Him accomplish His hearts desire for humanity. The more we give ourselves to prayer, the more often we will sense that tangible anointing, under girding us and empowering us as we prayer. This is when it starts really getting fun. I say “fun” for lack of a better term. It’s kind of like a surfer when he begins to learn to let the waves do all the work. If a surfer stays with it long enough, and he gets to this stage in surfing, he will rarely ever stop. He will do it the rest of his life. It just becomes way too much fun. Not a perfect analogy but it’s much like learning to let the Holy Spirit carry you in prayer. People that get to real high levels of this, will usually stay with it for the rest of their life. It’s just to much fun to ever stop. People who have experienced this real strong, are more likely willing to sacrifice things that their flesh & natural life would want, in order to stay in that intimate place with God & under that prayer anointing. Every born again, child of God wants this, they just don’t know they want it. They never will know how much they want it until they pay the price to get it. If you ever give yourself enough to God in prayer to come into certain levels of His presence & anointing you will realize that there is nothing in all of this world that compares to it. You will begin to sacrifice more & more of your time, sleep, food social life etc… on earth, for more of His presence on your life. There is nothing that can be compared with knowing Him more intimately. God needs us, to allow Him to use us, to pray through us. Know this though. There is no sacrifice that we could offer to God in prayer that He will not abundantly reciprocate & multiply back upon us in blessing!! He loves you SO much!
