Stephen Williams netted the winner in the 85th minute giving new coach Calvin Lewis a winning start. Only last week Lewis had resigned as coach of struggling Arnett Gardens and soon replaced the embattled Linval Dixon as Portmore United coach. Well the move paid off and as Premidictor had suggested, Portmore registered their first win in seven tries but are still at the bottom on five points. The Donovan Duckie-coached Montego remained top of the Red Stripe Premier League by goal difference with 13 points despite the loss. Meanwhile despite only battling to a 0-0 draw with Tivoli Gardens at the Edward Seaga Stadium, Humble Lion are joint leaders on 13 points while Tivoli Gardens hold firm in sixth spot with 10 points. At the Spanish Town Prison Oval, a brave Rivoli United playing with 10 men for nearly an hour, eked out a 2-1 win over Arnett Gardens and jumped into third spot with 11 points. Christopher Haynes had given the home team a 16th minute lead from the penalty spot before Anthowe Dawkins pulled Arnett levelled in the 22nd minute. Michael Blygen restored the advantage in the 28th minute before Garfield Reid picked up his second yellow card on minute 35. But Arnett Gardens failed to capitalized on the extra man and in the end, Rivoli earned a deserved victory. In fact, Rivoli got the clearest of chances to increase their tally and could have won by a wider margin. Despite changing coaches, Arnetts woes continued and they are now in the relegation zone in 11th spot with five points and a lot of work for Jerome Waite. At UWI Bowl, goals by Shane Edwards (14th) and Andre Dawkins (22nd) pushed Boys Town to an easy 2-0 win over August Town and end their unbeaten run. The Andrew Price-coached Red Brigades jumped three places to eighth on eight points while August Town slipped two spots to fifth on 10 points. The match between Sporting Central Academy and Cavalier was not played due to an inadequate playing surface caused by the recent rains at the Juici Patties Park. Cavalier remained on 10 points from six games but are down to seventh spot while Sporting are in 10th with six points also from six games. On Monday, big guns Waterhouse on 10 points in fourth spot tackle champions Harbour View in ninth place with eight points and both could make significant improvement in the table following their clash at the Compound starting at 7:00 pm.
