JKMHC to undertake post-Amarnath yatra sanitation drive at Baltal By Ishueye. Srinagar, Sep 6: Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering and Hiking Club (JKMHC) has decided to undertake a sanitation drive at Baltal, Sonamarg. In its Executive Committee meeting the JKMHC decided to undertake a sanitation drive at Baltal, Sonamarg in Sindh Valley from 25 member team, led by Muhammad Yusuf and Shaukat Ahmad would collect the garbage left by the Amarnath Yatries during the recently concluded yatra. The team shall comprise of school going students and some members of the Club. Some labourers and the mules would also be engaged to assist the team. Notably the Club has launched many such expeditions in Kashmir and Ladakh in the past. They have brought down tones of garbage from upper reaches in Markha, Lidder and Sindh valleys. It was also decided that the Club would organize a special adventure oriented program for the disabled children of the valley. The special children may be given opportunity to undertake pleasure rides in Zorb balls, inflatable boats, aero ballooning, and bungeeTrampoline. Special trips to Shankracharya hillock and other mountainous areas in the city would also be organized for them. The films and slide shows on adventure would be organized by the Club as well. Hundreds of special children are expected to partake of it. This is first time that the special children are being introduced to adventure. The Club Secretary Mahmood Ahmad Shah informed that both these programs are sponsored by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi. meeting positively. Anyone in arrears of subscription has been advised to deposit it before the meeting.
