JN Foundation wrote a new note: UK VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Resolution Project is the annual advocacy through photography programme of the JN Foundation, which is geared toward equipping, training and empowering students in Jamaica. JNBS has decided to expand this venture to the UK to offer students of the Jamaican and Caribbean Diaspora a similar opportunity in the form of a two week long sessions between the dates of July 28 to August 9th where they will be taken on field trips across London and receive fundamental lessons on photography. The students will then use these fundamentals to interpret the theme of Body Image, West Indian Identity/Culture. The Resolution Project is seeking the services of volunteers to process digital images captured by student photographers during a one week workshop. Successful applicants should have a broad set of skills including (but not limited to): ● Photo editing (Adobe Photoshop) ● Digital imaging ● Photo selection ● Identifying the causes of basic problems observed in digital images and providing feedback to students and programme leader. ● Ability to develop and implement a schedule for the collection, selection and processing of digital images. ● Printing of images after discussion with programme leader. ● Excellent interpersonal and team skills with emphasis on the ability to engage, motivate and encourage students (and staff) involved in the workshop. ● Willingness to supervise and direct students on photo shoots on streets and in public places. NB: All participants in the workshop are expected to maintain the highest standards in respect to interactions with participants, programme leaders and members of the general public and to represent the best interests, values and attitudes associated with the Jamaica National Building Society brand.
