JOB ANNOUNCEMENT! The North Coast Substance Abuse Council, a 501-c3 non-profit, is seeking an Executive Director. NCSAC offers residential and outpatient services to clients. Executive Director, North Coast Substance Abuse Council Definition Under general supervision from the Board of Directors, NCSAC, implement the policies and mission of the Agency. The Executive is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Agency. Duties • Hire appropriate staff so that the Agency’s programs meet all certification and licensing standards and demonstrate team-building skills. • Establish a public relations program and insure that the Agency’s programs receive adequate attention in the media. • Write grants at the direction of the Board of Directors for specific projects. • Negotiate with contracting entities and seek out alternative funding sources. • Insure that the Agency’s programs meet all licensing and certification guidelines and regulations. • Develop annual goals and objectives for the agency in conjunction with the Board of Directors. • Maybe be required to serve as a counselor. • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors. Responsibilities 1. Act as chief fiscal officer of the Agency: A. Receive and deposit all monies for the Agency. B. Develop an annual budget. C. Prepare financial reports on a monthly basis, and all other financial reporting requirements. D. Maintain financial records in accordance with generally acceptable accounting principles. 2. Represent the Agency in the community. A. Attend all Drug Advisory Board meetings. B. Attend other meetings where the NCSAC has an interest or desires to develop an interest. 3. Act as chief contracting officer for the Agency: A. Sign all documents for the Board Chairperson and report same to the Board. B. Develop new contracts as new monies become available. C. Solicit through government and private funding sources sufficient funds to operate the agency. 4. Act as chief executive officer of the corporation: A. Represent the Agency in all matters that require binding decisions. Minimum Qualifications Education - B.A. from an accredited University or college in Public Administration, Human Services or other related fields, and Experience – non-profit management with 5 years of increasingly responsible management Desired Qualifications Education – M.A. in public Administration, Human Services or highly related fields, MFCC license, or Experience – 5 years of increasingly responsible management. Knowledge of substance abuse treatment issues, experience with hard to serve populations. Certificate in substance abuse counseling a plus.
