JOB DESCRIPTION Waseskun Healing Center The Waseskun Healing Centre working with Aboriginal offenders referred from the prison system or through the courts or communities recently celebrated 25 years of helping men successfully heal and re-integrate into their communities. The centre is located 90 kms north of Montreal in the beautiful Laurentian foothills. Seewaseskun.net for additional information. Position offered: Case Manager / Parole Officer Status of position: Full time and permanent after successful probation period. Salary: To be discussed Functions Under the supervision of the Executive Director and/or his representatives, assist Case Management Team with client reports, the development of holistic healing plans and related documents. Work with correctional and judicial system services as required. This position includes the development of resident healing plans with the Elder/Helpers, participation in the team meetings and certain ceremonies, and being part of a developing and growing healing community. Other duties as required by the Executive Director and/or his representatives. Education/Experience Degree in Human Sciences (Social Work, Criminology, Counselling, Psychology, Sociology or related areas). Pertinent experience required. Combination of education/experience will be considered. Abilities and Skills Ability to analyze and summarize information, ability to recommend appropriate measures, ability to organize and plan work requirements, efficient verbal and written communication, and the ability to work in a setting that balances traditional healing with risk assessment and management.
