JOB OPENING CCCAV is looking to hire a full time Converse County Victim Advocate. This is a 40+ hour a week position. Must be available to be on-call and work weekends on occasion. Also, must be available to travel for conferences, trainings and crisis calls. Training will be provided upon hire. Training includes a 40 hour victim advocate training. Essential Job Functions: • Preform advocate duties for victims of crime and their families • Offer victim information, emotional support, resources and assistance in filling out paper work • Accompany victims through the criminal justice process; including going to court with a victim • Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to assist victims of all crime • Assist victims of crime in seeking Crime Victims Compensation benefits • Carry crisis phone and respond to scene, office, or other location with back-up advocate when needed • Provide crisis intervention • Respond to the emotional needs and physical needs of crime victims • Assist victims of crime in stabilizing their lives after victimization • Assist victims in understanding and participating in the criminal justice system • And provide victims of crime a measure of safety This position also helps with fundraising events.
