JOB ID 10966BR Role Purpose The New Media Maintenance Engineer provides hardware and software support for all computers and related computerized systems within the scope of the Engineering Department’s responsibilities. In addition, New Media Engineer candidate should be able to support legacy broadcast equipment. This position will report to the Manager of Engineering for New Media. Responsibilities • Supporting any computer that is connected to or its resulting product is audio, video or graphic elements. • Supporting computers and systems that function as automation and newsroom solutions with specific attention to those that control on-air equipment. • Support and administer the Engineer Production LAN and WAN infrastructure and connectivity. Comprised of multiple platform types of servers, workstations and proprietary equipment within the broadcast environment. • Work closely hand-in-hand with corporate IT and assist whenever there is a cross-related project and/or problem. • Support and resolve end-user issues. Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturers and suppliers. Keep accurate records for both inventory and licensing purposes. Install and relocate equipment as needed. • Stay current with a working knowledge of new technologies and apply whenever necessary or beneficial. • Supporting ADAM Intercom Matrix and connected equipment. • Supporting Digital audio consoles and MADI distribution systems. Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications Associates Degree in Electronics and/or Computer Sciences, technical school courses or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of television production and engineering experience. Experience with Windows, Apple, Linux, Avid, Final Cut Pro and other production related platforms and applications Eligibility Requirements Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers to be considered (note job id 10966BR) Must be willing to work in Hialeah Must be willing to submit to a background investigation Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be 18 years or older Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, late breaking news and hurricane emergencies. Ability to work regular hours. Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment. Desired Characteristics Bilingual English/Spanish. Ability to conduct business conversations in both languages including the ability to read and write. Ability to multitask, react, solve problems and obtain results under pressures of television production and broadcasts. Ability to interact with a variety of individuals including management, employees, and outside vendors/consultants. Excellent people skills.
