JOB TITLE TECHNICAL ASSISTANT - MAINTENANCE (R96K pa) LOCATION GAUTRAIN DEPOT - MIDRAND REPORTING TO MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain the Operator’ assets and ensure that safety, quality and performance targets are achieved. Execute maintenance policy, standards and procedures and ensure reliable and safe infrastructure. To ensure seamless travel for our customers that is safe, reliable, comfortable and friendly. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • Grade 12 • Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical or Civil or at least 5 years’ relevant experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation and Civil. • Computer Literate - MS Word, Power Point and Excel at advanced level • Fluent in English INHERENT JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Safety management • Technical knowledge on the required field / equipment • Multi skilled technician in electrical, mechanical, Instrumentation and Civil works will be an advantage. • MIS (especially Maximo) knowledge would be an advantage • General knowledge of railway systems will be an advantage. • Attention to detail • Sense of urgency • Must show initiative SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: • Adhere to continuous improvement principles • Ensure minimum levels of equipment downtime including timely and effective response to breakdowns • Conduct routine maintenance and maintenance inspections and practice preventative maintenance • Abide to general house-keeping rules • Enforce compliance to health and safety practises and regulations and ensure monthly safety audits are conducted. • Ensure that all agreed routine plant checks and testing are carried out to the specified frequencies and in accordance with Plant Operating Instructions • Ensure contractors comply with all applicable regulations • Analyze and rectify equipment defects in a timely manner to avoid downtimes • Take a proactive role in site projects, representing the engineering function • Assist in updating maintenance specifications and procedures • Conduct analysis on obsolescence treatment. • Undertake any other duties as assigned.
