JOHN DALE LANDRY “Loving Husband, Father, Son and Brother” A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for John Dale Landry at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Mausoleum with Military Graveside Rites by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. Mr. Landry died at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 22, 2013 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, a rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 7:00 PM. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Mr. Landry was a lifelong resident of Jeanerette. He was born on December 16, 1941 to Ernest Joseph Landry, Sr. and Corinne Broussard Landry. Mr. Landry in his younger days like to hunt and fish. He also did woodworking, gardening and loved to cook. Mr. Landry was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School and attended the Vocational Technical School in New Iberia. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Masonic Lodge #255 in Jeanerette. He was also a Past Master of that lodge. He also held memberships in the Aurora Lodge #193, Lake Charles Scottish Rite Bodies, the Habibi Temple and the Girard Hope Chapter #33. Mr. Landry joined the United States Navy in 1959. He served for 4 years. When he returned home he joined the Jeanerette National Guard and stayed there for 3 years. During his lifetime, he worked for several Manufacturing and Boat building companies. His last employer was Honiron Corporation where he worked for 26 years. He built sugarcane equipment and did repair work on them, especially the Core Samplers at the different Mills in the state. After retirement he went to work for M. A. Patout as their groundskeeper for a few years. Mr. Landry loved to talk and could hold a conversation with everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 48 years, Susie Anna Landry. His four children, Gregory Paul Landry and his wife Lisa of Summerville, South Carolina, Michael Dale Landry, Sr. and his wife Miranda of New Iberia, Scottie David Landry, I of Jeanerette and Tiffany Anne L. Daniel and her husband Jimmie C. Daniel, II of Franklin. His twelve grandchildren, Jimmie Carl Daniel, III, Richard Alexander Colton, Victoria Elizabeth Landry, Allison Noel Landry, Scottie David “Duece” Landry, II, Sarah Anne Daniel, Cameron Roy Landry, Morgan Faye Landry, Michael Dale Landry, Jr., Jacob John Daniel, Ava Marie Landry, Noah Michael Landry and one great-great grandchild, Avery Luke Daniel. His five brothers, Robert Paul Landry and his wife Debbie, Ray Anthony Landry and his wife Monica, Rudy Timothy Landry and his wife Elizabeth, Marcel James Landry and his wife Angie and Rodney Richard Landry and his wife Carolyn. His two sisters, Patricia Ann L. McGuinn and her husband Vally and Linda Lee L. Nicholetti and her husband James. His brother-in-laws, Rodney Gernest Landry, Eddie Paul Robinson, Chris Adam Landry, Ernest David Landry and Barry Paul Clements. His sister-in-laws, Gloria C. Landry, Peggy Ann L. Robinson, Marlene B. Landry, Terri E. Landry and Christine Marie L. Clements. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Joseph Landry, Sr. and Corrine Broussard Landry. His matrimonally parents, Henry Genest Landry and Augustine Mary-Louise Christensen Landry. His brother, Ernest Joseph Landry, Jr.. His brother-in-laws, Olan John Romero, Glenn Paul Landry, Randy Jude Landry and Ted Henry Landry. His sister-in-laws, Sybil Marie L. Romero and Ila Cecil Conley Landry. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers at Acadian Home Health and Heart of Hospice and everyone who called and came by to visit. His readers at Mass will be Sarah Anne Daniel and Morgan Faye Landry. Gift Bearers will be Jacob John Daniel, Michael Dale Landry, Jr. and Cameron Roy Landry. Pallbearers will be Gregory P. Landry, Michael D. Landry, Sr., Scottie D. Landry, Jimmie C. Daniel, II, Ray A. Landry and Rodney R. Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Vally J. McGuinn, James J. Nicholetti, Robert P.
