JOHNSON PRIMARY SCHOOL UPDATES: From your principal Scott Tefft, Howdy, Team Osprey! I hope everyone is as excited as we are here at JPS! A new SY is fast approaching. 1. As most of you know, school will begin at Johnson Primary on Thursday, August 22nd for grades 1st and 2nd grade and for Kindergarten students who have been placed in a multi age classroom. 2. CLASS LISTS WILL BE POSTED ON THE JPS WINDOWS RIGHT OUTSIDE THE OFFICE THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 16 AT 4 PM. 3. No Teacher/Classroom changes will be considered/implemented until after the first three weeks of school. 4. First day of school for Pre K is September 5th. 5. Kindergarten Orientation information: IF your child is assigned to a single grade Kindergarten class (meaning they are NOT in a multi-age K,1,2 class), a Parent & Student Orientation is Thursday, August 22 in your assigned classroom. Students with last names beginning with A-L should arrive at 9:00am and those with last names beginning with M-Z should arrive at 1:00pm. The orientation is 1 ½ hour session designed to introduce you and your child to the exciting world of Kindergarten! Students will depart with their parents at the end of the orientation. First full day of Kindergarten is Friday, August 23, 8:30-3:00. At Orientation, parents should provide written documentation as to how the child will return home: Bus; Car; Meet parent at designated area & walk home; Walk with older sibling; or Youth Center Bus. 6. There will be a Meet and Greet on Wednesday, August 21st from 12 PM to 1:30 PM in your child’s classroom. This will be your back to school opportunity to meet the teacher. 7.
