JOIN NOW! :) #1stBacolodPastriesFestival heres the GUIDELINES & CRITERIA FOR JUDGING I. Cake Decorating Contest Guidelines: 1. All participants must be at the venue (1) one hour prior to the competition. Teams who will not comply may be disqualified from the event. 2. Each team shall create a cake based on the theme MARDI GRAS. 3. Each team shall be composed of (3) three members. 4. Participants will be allowed to wear any attire as long as each has his/her own apron and hair net. 5. Any items are not allowed to be cooked in the venue. 6. The organizers will ONLY provide the following: table for display, Styrofoam which will serve as the cake, fondant icing and basic utensils needed for decoration. 7. Each team must provide their own materials needed for their designs. 8. ALL designs for the cake must be EDIBLE. 9. Judges’ decision is FINAL. Criteria: Presentation 40% Includes: - Design - Originality - Level of difficulty - Adherence to theme - Edible materials Workmanship 30% Sanitation 20% X-Factor 10% - People’s choice 100% Mechanics: 3 layered cake Edible materials Sizes: - Bottom: 14x5” - Middle: 10x5” - Top: 8x5” II. Cupcake Wars (Open to all) Guidelines: 1. All participants must be at the venue (1) one hour prior to the competition. Teams who will not comply may be disqualified from the event. 2. Each team will be composed of (2) two members. 3. Each team will be allowed to choose any designs for the cupcakes. 4. Participants will be allowed to wear any attire as long as each has his/her own apron and hair net. 5. Frosting: any kind of icing is allowed and must be made DURING the contest proper. 6. The organizers will ONLY provide the following: table for display, basic utensils needed for decoration and cupcake stand. 7. Damages done on the equipments and utensils provided by the organizers will be charged to the participants. 8. Each team must provide their own materials needed for their designs and ingredients for icing. 9. ALL designs for the cake must be EDIBLE. 10. Judges’ decision is FINAL. Criteria: Design 30% Includes: - Technique - Level of difficulty - Adherence to the theme - Originality Workmanship 30% Taste 25% - Texture - Flavor - Consistency Sanitation 10% X-Factor 5% - People’s choice 100% Mechanics: We will provide the cupcakes. Decorations (sprinkles, mallows, etc.) must be provided by the contestants. Edible materials A copy of the frosting/icing recipe to be used and paper cups for the cupcakes must be submitted to the organizers three (3) days before the competition. Failure to do so will entail corresponding point deductions from the participant’s final score.
