For example a silent revolution is taking place in Lagos. Everyday, thousands of Lagosians are escaping the hustle and bustle of Lagos traffic by traversing the mainland in the new air condition Diesel Multiple Unit trains. These trains were introduced by Jonathan administration as a fore taste of our plan to develop an inter and intra city high speed train network for Lagos. The Federal Government has already signed a $1.5 Billion contract for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan Express Train. This service, when complete, will make it possible to live in Ibadan and work in Lagos. This is progressing simultaneously with the $12 Billion Lagos-Calabar coastal rail project. This project is 1,402 kilometers long and will link Lagos to Calabar with stops at cities along the route. Jonathan have good plans for Lagos, plans that will ensure that Lagos continues to be the Center of Excellence and a pride to Nigeria. # Opening up of Nigeria to the global business community and becoming Africas number one destination of foreign investors. In the first six months of 2014, a total of US $ 9.70 billion or N1.51 trillion flowed into the national economy as foreign direct investment (FDI). # Nigeria rebased its GDP for the first time in over a decade to become the largest economy in Africa, overtaking South Africa and Egypt in the process. # Proceeds from Nigerias non-oil exports rose to 2.97 billion. # Revival of the dead automotive industry in Nigeria. Now the like of Peugeot, Nissan and Hyunnai either assemble or manufacture cars in Nigeria. # Nigeria become the first country in West Africa to host the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2014, and the most successful forum for Africa in history, boasting a global reach of 2.1 billion people. # Favourable economic policies which increased internet penetration in Nigeria from about 45 million in 2011 to 63 millions in 2014, overtaking United Kingdom and France. # At the advent of democracy in 1999, Nigerian’s GDP was 35.9 billion US dollars. Now, it is 510 billion US dollars. # In 1999, Nigeria debt to GDP Ratio was 93.1%, now it is 13.6% of which external debt to GDP Ratio is 1.89%. # There is a higher level of accountability and transparency in the management of the Nigerian Excess Crude Account (ECA), Foreign Reserve as well as oil proceeds unlike what obtained in the past. # The Africas richest man; Aliko Dangotes net worth increased from US $ 2.1 billion at the start of Goodlucks administration to US $ 23 billion in 2014. Nigeria is now the Worlds largest producer of Cassava with an output of over 45 million metric tonnes in 2014 according FAO. Also Nigeria has reduced its food imports by over 40% as of 2013, moving the country closer to self sufficiency in Agriculture, and Agricultural practice is not just a means of livelihood, but more as a business. # Change has come to Nigerian electoral process. Now Nigeria has fewer cases of election petitions since the President committed himself to the one person, one vote campaign. # in just one year, Nigeria went from 50 polio cases to 6. And arresting the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease. # Women in politics have been given more prominent roles. # No more scarcity of fuel or increase in price during festive periods like Chrismas. # Change has come to the education sector. Besides increased budgetary allocations, there have been special programs and interventions. For instance, under the Almajiri education program, 125 day and boarding schools are being constructed in 27 states,while their equivalents, the Back to School Special Vocational Schools in the South East and South South are being established. And 12 new universities. # The government has also earmarked the injection of N13 trillion into the Nigerian university system in the next six years to fund the revitalization of infrastructure and key programs that would revolutionize the nation’s universities. I can go on and on. # Introduction and execution of Nigeria Electronic Identity Card. # Establishment of 3826 primary health care centres, teaching hospitals, and SURE-P. Fellow Nigerians, the change that the opposition is touting is already here. I therefore invite you to pitch your tent with this agent of change that we know, and forget desperate power seekers. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is the change.
