JOURNAL: Im happy when I do what I need to do and I dont waste time doing it. --- Richie Hayes :) WILL SELF-DESTRUCT Soon! Yep my own little quote of the day. What would inspire such inspirational words (hahah so deep!!!!)? I installed two pairs of sliding closet doors today. Yep Im proud of myself haha What a pain in the ask your mother for 25 cents! My grandpa taught me that one. He also taught me to never pee on an electric fence. Make sure you touch it with a weed before you take your leak. Yep remember that my friends! Thats realllllly good advice!! Zap! Youll go flying or mess up your future family or prevent you from having one at all! It might even mess with your hearing and speech and it will definitely mess up your vision and youll never walk a straight line again!! For once in my life Im actually happy that Im not rich. Yep. Sadly enough I think that I would be an idiot if I had all the money in the world. I grew up working on motorcycles, tote gotes and cars. I knew how to grind and seat valves and replace head gaskets and pistons and timing belts and how to pull motors and replace brakes and clean out and adjust carburetors all before I was 16. Even drum brakes which are a royal pain! I remember replacing piston rings, bearings, and head gaskets and cleaning parts with gasoline. I still love that smell. Starting fluid was a very big part of my life!! hahah Seriously! How well I remember that smell. When you have nothing but crap that stuff is a must! Yep just spray your air filter.. if that doesnt work, take it off and spray it directly into the carb, if that doesnt work remove the spark plug and spray it right into the cylinder. That ALWAYS works even if your timing and carburetion are messed up! Who cares! Try not to spray it in your eyes. That kinda hurts. I knew how to patch inner tubes and replace chains and fix bike brakes all before I was even 10. I got my hunters safety when I turned 10 years old. I got my Eagle Scout when I was 13. I knew how to survive outside and how to camp and find my way no matter where I was. My dad taught me how to weld, frame, shingle, dry wall, plumb and even how to do electrical. Dont ever forget that black wire is hot. That bare wire is ground. That white one is neutral. Add two of them together and you got your 220v. Be careful however. That much juice will seriously zap your brain- like lobotomy zap your brain! I had a very sick mother growing up. She suffered like no other. Way too much for a little boy to see. I was always the strong one. I remember dropping her off at a hospital in SLC and then driving away. My brothers and sisters cried but I held it back. I watched my dads extreme patience with her and vice versa actually. I had a dad who knew everything and a mother who also knew everything in a totally different way. She would chase my friends around the kitchen table in order to kiss them! She had nicknames for everybody. She was nothing but pure love. My dad was kind and gentle and soft-spoken. She was kind of noisy in a good way haha! I loved that about her. My dad would always tell her to turn down her volume hahaha that really ticked her off!! She was nothing but happiness when she was well. Even when she wasnt all of us adored her. My dad was invincible to us. We had absolute faith in him. He could do anything. My dad taught me my first song on the guitar but he told me that the song was kind of inappropriate! What was that song.. House of the Rising Sun. Yep it has quite a few chords in it and that first chord is A minor. I never understood how he could tune the guitar. He could also play the piano and he was incredible on the accordion. I remember watching my dad get out of the car on road trips to southern Utah to talk to Navajo Indians. When I was little I didnt really understand why he would do that. He served a mission for the LDS church and lived with those people for two years and most of that time was actually in hogans. He has a PROFOUND love for them. He actually speaks Navajo. Holy moly. I remember watching a movie in which there was an Indian being tortured and I saw my dad sobbing. My mom was totally different than my dad, but once again, she was nothing but happiness to us. She did play the piano and she loved the Carpenters. Her favorite song was always On top of the World. So... I had one heck of a childhood. I feel that I really got the best of everything from my parents. I got a quiet, yet powerful attitude from my dad that says that I can do anything I want. But I got an incredible sensitivity to everything and everyone around me because of my mom. I kid around and say that Im messed up. Well...I guess I am. But I wouldnt have it any other way. Some friends just come and go. Others are there forever. The ones that dont matter, dont matter anymore. Loves to all. Relax a little today is my advice to me. Dont worry about the idiots who are watching you. Theyre not gonna like you anyway. Do worry about the little eyes watching you. In my case, there are 8 of them. I just hope that everything I am rubs off (just the good stuff hahaha) onto my girls. I want them to have my messed up perspective!
