JOYCE BANDA ORDERS WITHDRAW OF CHIBVUNDES WARRANT OF ARREST:-Malawi President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda has ordered the withdraw of a warrant of arrest that the Anti-Corruption Bureau obtained against ruling Peoples Party (PP) official, Ephraim Chibvunde. Chibvunde, is PPs Deputy Director of Political Affairs and also one of the closest aides to President Joyce Banda. Investigators from the Anti-Corruption Bureau quizzed Chibvunde on various issues in connection to the Capital Hill Cash-Gate scandal and found sufficient evidence of his involvement hence the warrant of arrest. However, President Joyce Banda has intervened through the ACB Director and new Minister of Justice Fahad Assani stopping Chibvundes possible arrest. According to State House insiders, Chibvunde is one of the most trusted aides to President Banda. They say whatever Chibvunde says, the Malawi leader often listens. Ephraim Chibvundes closeness to President Banda has earned him a fair share of enemies as well within the confines of State House, government hierachy and the ruling PP. In February this year, PP Publicity Secretary Hophmally Makande and Ephraim Chibvunde bruised each other after exchanging blows at the Presidential Kamuzu Palace. President Banda was present when the two grown up men fought before their State President. Ephraim Chibvunde who comes from Mulunje, is believed to be the one who persuaded President Joyce Banda to appoint Brown Mpinganjira into the cabinet. He is also the same one who facilitated to have his best friend Chikumbutso Mtuumodzi returned as Director in the Ministry of Information. Achoke! Achoke! Achoke!!!
