JPC: A huge welcome to all 2015Kx365ers! Three days in and hopefully many of you will now have three days of activity behind you. For many this is quite possibly a personal record...a personal achievement. Congratulations! Something to be proud of, and something to build on. The more you go, the firmer the foundation and the greater the motivation to continue. This is only the second year of the Kx365 initiative / challenge...so please hold with us. We know that we could communicate things better and we will improve the challenge as it goes on and progresses. The main thing is that you have started and, hopefully, are tracking you daily activity. Whether this is a 1K walk or an ultramarathon...we value each of you steps and each calorie you burn. One of the good things about Kx365 is that 1K walkers stand alongside 10K a day runners (or more). Yet there is an appreciation that all do what they can manage...for themselves. We respect everyone to the same degree...whatever they are doing. Were just glad to have you along as part of our little tribe of daily hunter gatherers. Last year the 2014K tribe managed to circumnavigate the globe around three times under their own steam and without missing a day between them. Every single K contribution was welcome as hell in achieving this. Around 50 people started on 1 Jan 2014. Around 200 people started on 1 Jan 2015! People can join in the challenge from hereon whenever they wish. So if you have inspired someone else, then they can join in whenever, starting at Day 1 obviously...from whence they began. However, 200 people are in this to try and do the full calendar year of unbroken activity. Of the fifty who started on Jan 1st last year about half made it through to the end. Those that did not complete, many of them, still achieved more than they had ever done so previously. And many are back to start once more in 2015! Over the next few days well be posting more information and guidance and details. Well be introducing the team who sit behind the challenge, including myself. So you know who to go to to ask questions etc. Its probably worth mentioning, however, that we dont have rules! You are the judge of your own successes and failures. We dont even like to use the word failure. As we see that anyone who committs to this grand endeavour has already succeeded to a degree. Most of your family and friends will think youre mad, but theyll respect you for sure. The only rule of this challenge...really...is to do what you can whilst still enjoying it. If you find that you are not enjoying it...then stop or adjust your personal challenge. Only you know this! So be sensible! Listen to your body and your mind. Those that succeed on a challenge like this are generally sensible. They see the mountain in front and they build strength in order to climb it. Use the Kx365 Facebook Group. It is a really useful tool on this challenge. It is where you can ask questions and get help and advice. But most of all...have fun! Celebrate each day you do your K! Hi five your kids or partner or friends until their palms are sore. Cos theyll be inspired also...and that can only be a good thing. Good fortune folks! We wish you good fortune. And we very much look forward to following your endeavour and struggle...and your achievement.
