JTS SPORTS NEWS The College Football Playoff Selection Committee released its weekly rankings last night, and once again, Alabama remains on the outside of the top four looking in. The Crimson Tide stayed at #5 again this week, despite their win in Death Valley over LSU Saturday night. Mississippi State is #1, Oregon is #2, Florida State slipped to #3, and TCU moved into the top four in the rankings. These rankings will ultimately determine the participants in college footballs first-ever four-team playoff. Major League Baseball continued handing out postseason awards yesterday, as Buck Showalter and Matt Williams were named Managers Of The Year in the respective leagues. Showalter led the Baltimore Orioles to their first division title in 17 years, while Williams led the Washington Nationals to a division title and the best record in the National League in his first season as manager.
