JUP President Ijaz Hashmi said in a statement here on Sunday that as the continuing protest was tarnishing image of the country, the government must act without further delay and set up a commission to expose alleged rigging in the 2013 polls. Acknowledging that protest and meetings are part of politics, Mr Hashmi however said both the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf must reflect on the damage caused to the economy by the politics of unrelenting protests. Similarly, he said, both of them were responsible for maintaining peace during the protest. He also demanded that proportionate representation system should be made part of the electoral reforms being deliberated upon by a parliamentary committee.
