JUTH Become Defunct Entity Alarm bells emerging from the Plateau State capital, Jos, indicate that former top-flight Nigerian league side, Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) has suddenly become 3exticnt, following the club’s management’s decision to disband the outfit. A confirmation to this effect has come from one of the club’s players in the past season, Gyanga Musa, who stated categorically that the club, which shot current Super Eagles star, Ahmed Musa of CSKA Moscow of Russia to stardom, will not participate in the lower division league for the forthcoming new season. Aside Musa, who cut his professional teeth with JUTH when he was discovered at Aminchi Academy, other products of the Tin City Healers include Kehinde Fatai (ex-U20, ex-U23 and Club Brugge), Willy Adams (Sudan), Babawo Mohammed (now a players agent), Uche Agbo (U20 star) and Tochukwu Nwankwo (USA). Others include Eze Fidelis, Hassan Hussein, Kelechi Okoye, Kamaldeen Sikiru, James Amankwei, Musa Yawale, Sunday Omolade, Thomas Kemeh, Walter Peter, Emmanuel Abba, Victor Yakubu, James Amankwei and Danjuma Ibrahim. JUTH, who hold the record of the first team in Plateau State to play for two season consecutively in Nigeria Premier league, were relegated to the third-tier Nationwide League at the end of the past Nigerian National League (NNL) season, which must have prompted the management’s decision to close shop. Although the club enjoyed great support from the immediate past chief medical director at the hospital, Ishaya Pam, a football enthusiast, Gyanga Musa, a goalkeeper of the team, informed MTNFootball that the team has finally been disbanded. There is no more JUTH FC. We have been disbanded. We just finished meeting with the management (12 noon) and they told us the acting CMD said they dont have money to spend on the team again, Musa told MTNFootball. A top official of the team further confirmed the development, saying: “I think that is the true position because we received a letter from the acting CMD to that effect that they wont be able to fund the team. “So, we have no choice than to inform the players of the latest development and to switch off the team, but we can never tell may be if a substantive CMD is appointed because the present one is in acting capacity, the story may change and the club return.
